Creation of new provinces neither un-Islamic nor unconstitutional :Siraj ul Haq

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the creation of new provinces in the country was neither un-Islamic nor unconstitutional.

Addressing newspaper editors and senior journalists at Multan on Tuesday evening, he said that new provinces may be created wherever necessary but not on the basis of bias or hatred.

Sirajul Haq said that the whole nation had united for putting an end to terrorism and for building an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan. He said, all political parties had given a mandate to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for uprooting terrorism and the government should avail the opportunity for establishing the rule of law in the country.He said that the agents of foreign powers- whether any individual, a group, or an institution, should be punished in accordance with the constitution and the law.

The JI chief said that blaming the religious parties for terrorism was the set agenda of the secular lobby and the colonial powers although terrorist attacks were also made on prominent religious personalities including late Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Maulana Fazlur Rahman. He pointed out that more than three hundred Ulema of Peshawar had given a decree that the religious madrissahs were not involved in terrorism, and said that this was simply the enemy propaganda to malign Islam and  Pakistan’s Islamic character.

He termed the Peshawar tragedy a greater tragedy than the 9/11, and said if the rulers and the nation did not learn a lesson from it, and failed to evolve effective strategy to protect our future generations, such incident could not be prevented.

Replying to questions, the JI chief said that it would be naïve to expect the enforcement of Islamic order from the PML(N) government. He further said that the US was not trustworthy as had been proved in the 1965 and 1971 as the colonial powers simply wanted the dissolution of Pakistan.

The JI chief also attended a function organized by the Islami Jamiat e Talaba( IJT) the student wing of the JI, on the occasion of its 68^th foundation day at Multan. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the IJT was the custodian of the country’s ideology and its geographical borders. He said the youth was the vanguard of the Islamic revolution in Pakistan.
