pic sirajul haqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has stressed upon the government to confiscate all illegal arms in the country and deposit these with the state armoury in order to eradicate terrorism.

He was speaking as guest speaker at a national conference organized by the Unified Media Club here

to express solidarity with the martyrs of the Peshawar tragedy. The Punjab Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar, Gen. retd Javed Mehmud, and Hamid Riaz Dogar also spoke on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq also called upon the government to fulfill its responsibility of protecting the life and property of the citizens. He also demanded an end to the present system based on class and exploitation besides introduction of a uniform education system to help promote national unity and for the benefit of the poor.

He said that the national unity and harmony was more important than the nuclear. The JI chief said that the US had spread out terrorism all over the world in order to sell its arms and ammunition. The Americans had thrust war on as many as sixteen Muslim states while Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan had been direct victim of US terrorism and millions of their people had been killed.

Sirajul Haq said that the terrorists had no religion. He said all the religions preached peace while for Islam, the unjust killing of a single human being was tantamount to the murder of the entire humanity.

He said it was the settled agenda of secular lobby and agents of colonialism to blame the religious organizations for terrorism. He said that terrorist attacks were also made on former JI chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmed and JUI(F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman. On the other hand, he said, representatives of as many as thirty three Islamic movements from all over the world attending the JI Ijtema here last month had expressed their resolve to spread their message through peaceful and democratic means.

The JI chief said that the enemy forces wanted to split Pakistan into small pieces to suit their designs. He said the forces of Kufr had divided the Muslim Ummah according to a specific plan. Besides, he said, the US had always supported undemocratic and dictatorial rulers in the country.

He thanked the government as also the political parties for deciding to observe the year 2015 as year of peace on his request made at the APC.

Sirajul Haq said that the biggest hurdle in our national unity was the policies we had adopted on the bidding of the aliens. For instance, he said, there was no reason for having different Wifaqs of religious madrassas at the federal level especially when all the students studying in government and private educational institutions of different education boards could appear in a single Education Board for matriculation examination.
