Shuja Khanzad attends annual sports day function at Ali Institute of Education Kids Campus

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Home, Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada has said that sports and extracurricular activities play an important role in mental development and polishing the hidden abilities of the children.

He said this while addressing an annual sports day function at Ali Institute of Education Kids Campus, here today. Principal of the school Ms. Naureen Merchant, children and parents were present in large numbers.

Shuja Khanzada said that Punjab government is paying special attention to sports and has been holding youth festivals by spending billions of rupees for the last many years for creating trend of competition among the students. He said that those countries which have achieved prominent place in sports in the world have also made progress in other walks of life. The Minister said that Chief Minister Punjab is taking special interest in healthy activities for the youth and that is why he has established sports grounds by retrieving land from qabza mafia in the province.

Col. Shuja Khanzada said that sports not only create spirit of competition among the children and youth but also help in keeping them away from drugs, unnecessary and unhealthy activities. He also appreciated the performance of children who took part in sports, gymnastic, karate and horse riding and distributed prizes and medals among the children obtaining prominent positions.
