Thousands of Drs are being promoted to next grade:Kh Salman

Khawaja Salman RafiqueLahore: Advisor Health Punjab Kh Salman Rafique has said that for the promotion of doctors to next grades, Health Department has prepared a summary for creation of new posts and matters of service structure and sent to Finance Department for approval. He further said that thousands of doctors of all grades will be promoted to next grade within next two to three months.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting to review progress on promotion of doctors to next grades and matters of service structure, at Civil Secretariat. Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik, Special Secretary Health Salman Ghani, DG Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Deputy Secretary Adnan Zafar and Deputy Secretary Health Kh. Mansoor were present on the occasion. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that this step of government has paved way for the promotion of thousands of doctors and doctors of grade 18 and 19 awaiting for promotion for the last 15 years will be promoted to next grades.

Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik informed that meeting of departmental committee will be started from January 15, 2015 for the promotion of doctors from grade 17 to grade 18 as Senior Medical Officers and all promotion will be made on regular basis. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that doctors up to batch of 1988 will benefit from promotion to next grades. Deputy Secretary Health Adnan Zafar while giving a briefing said that orders for transfer of 86 doctors undergoing post graduate training at Jinnah Hospital, Nishtar Hospital Multan and Services Hospital Lahore have been withdrawn and they will get their salary from Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI).

Kh. Salman Rafiq said that present government has taken unprecedented steps for the promotion of doctors and their service structure. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken steps on priority basis for modernization of Health Department, welfare of doctors, nurses and paramedics and resolving their service matters.
