Punjab Police officers will be sent Turkey for modern training :Minister for Home

Minister HomeLahore: Provincial Minister for Home, Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada presided over a special meeting for reviewing the steps and reforms being introduced with the help of Turkey for improving the system of Punjab Police. Secretary Home Azam Suleman and senior officials of Turkey and Punjab Police attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that setting up of integrated command and control centres under Safe City project of Punjab government, will help control crimes. He said that a comprehensive strategy has been evolved to improve the performance of police with the help of Turkey. He said that these projects also include latest project of the world “Dolphin”. He said that training is being imparted to officers and jawans of police with the help of Police Department of Turkey and soon these officers will be sent for modern training in Turkey.

Due to training of these officers and jawans in turkey, not only they will be apprised of modern system of Turkey but this step will also help check crimes, he added. He said that training in use of modern weapons used by the police of developed countries has been arranged. Punjab government is taking steps for provision of these equipments which will help eliminate crimes besides investigation on modern lines.

Shuja Khanzada said that government is utilizing all out resources for improving the existing system of police. He said that Punjab government is making serious efforts for overcoming terrorism and crimes and utilizing maximum resources for the maintenance of law and order.

Home Secretary Azam Suleman informed that officers and jawans becoming the part of this modern system of police reforms will train other officials under comprehensive training programme for improvement of present system. He said that the officers who have completed training are being appointed in different training centres, interrogation centres and investigation institutions of police department.  He said that soon a special group of officers and jawans of Punjab police will visit Turkey for observing Dolphin system and its working.

Turk authorities assured to extend full cooperation for improving the existing system of police. Col. Shuja Khanzada thanked Turkey on behalf of Punjab government for extending cooperation.
