JIP leaders condole with Molana Fazal ur Rehman over Dr Khalid Mehmood murder

pic ji-- juiLahore: Jamaat e Islami’s deputy chief and former MNA, Mian Muhammad Aslam, called on the JUI(F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, at his residence in Islamabad on Sunday and offered  condolences on the assassination of senior JUI(F) Sindh leader Maulana Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro.

The JI deputy chief termed the killing of Dr Soomro as an act of blatant terrorism and target killing. He said that the government had completely failed to protect the life, property and honour of the citizens. He said if the target killing of the Ulema was not stopped, there would be a strong reaction and the things could go out of government’s control.

He paid tributes to Dr Soomro and said the deceased was a courageous religious scholar, and a bold political leader and his death was a great loss for the country and the nation.

Mian Muhammad Aslam deplored that the Sindh government was busy in tussle with its political opponents simply to save itself but had least concern about law and order.

Mian Muhammad Aslam was accompanied by local JI leaders and workers.

Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, on Sunday, contacted JUI(F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman by telephone and express his deep grief over the assassination of a central JUI() leader from Sindh, Dr. Khalid Mehmud Soomro.The JI central leader said that Dr Soomro was a great scholar and a fluent orator, and a bold worker of Islam.

Later, while talking to media men from Lahore and Faisalabad, Liaqat Baloch said that the target killing of Dr Soomro was the continuation of the conspiracy to plunge the country into sectarian strife and civil war. He demanded an inquiry into the killing of Dr Soomro and deterrent punishment to the killers. He noted that Dr Soomro had also been General Secretary of the Milli Yakjehti Council Sindh, and the mYC would also condolence meetings on his murder.

Liaqat Baloch also visited the residence of deceased PTI leader Ahsan Rashid in the city and offered his condolences with the deceased son Salman Rashid and others family members. He also visited the residence of Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhyanvi at Kamalia to offer his condolences on the death of Maulana’s son in law, Dr Tariq Mehmud, in a road accident.
