ADVANCE TRAINING COURSE FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS CONCLUDES

Lahore: Advance Training Course for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) from all 36 Districts of Punjab concluded & they were passed out accordingly from Emergency Services Academy. The objective of this course was to enhance the skills of the EMTs to an advance level in terms of theoretical knowledge as well as hands on practice in accordance with the International guidelines, change in CPR method and ratio as standardized by the American Heart Association. Moreover, a special short training on Disaster Management was also incorporated in this course. They have been trained in professional emergency management of critically injured patient’s especially mass causality incidents. During training, they have gone through a series of surprise scenarios on which they have been evaluated

DG Rescue Punjab, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, while addressing the passing out ceremony, said that no compromise shall be made on service standards and quality of training. He said that such refresher courses are necessary to ensure quality and standard of the Service as all emergency services across the world always forces focus on such training courses to enhance their capacity and performance. He further said that the Emergency Services Academy imparts training of revised rescue techniques about fire; medical and rescue among rescuers of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122). Dr. Rizwan Naseer further said that rescuers are respected by the citizens because of their performance and professionalism; therefore, the rescuers should work more enthusiastically to sustain this respect.

“You have to bring change of safe culture in your respective areas by introducing unique ideas of safety and to establish healthy atmosphere through cleanliness and prevention,” he said, adding we have to work for establishment of safer communities in Pakistan by acting upon the slogan “Saving Lives and Changing Minds”. Dr. Rizwan Naseer said that Rescue 1122 has taken the responsibility of promoting safe culture in Punjab therefore rescuers should remain prepared all the time to fulfill this responsibility. He directed them to keep personal kits with them so that they may respond to emergency in time without any delay and react on all kinds of natural calamities.
