Abdullah Sumble appreciates educational institutions role in anti dengue campaign

Secretary Higher Education Abdullah SunbleSec Higher Education Abdullah Sumble,MPA Lubna FaisalLahore: Member Provincial Assembly Lubna Faisal and Secretary Higher Education Abdullah Sumbal while appreciating the performance of the departments participating in anti-dengue campaign have said that due to best departmental team work and guidance of political leadership, Cantt Town has been protected from dengue. Only three dengue affected persons have been reported in Cantt Town this year. They said that all departments should ensure effective mobilization and implementation of dengue regulations in public and private sectors. They said that any negligence can cause irreparable loss and warned that in case of detection of dengue larva from any place, FIR will be registered against the persons responsible.

They said this while presiding over a meeting of Cantt and Cantonment Emergency Response Committee for Anti-Dengue here today. AC Cantt Rao Iftikhar Ahmed, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Nauman Jamil, Deputy DO Health Cantt, Principals of Govt. Girls Islamia College Cantt, Rabia Basri College and Kh. Rafiq Shaheed College besides representatives of Health, Education, Cooperatives, Fisheries departments, DHA and Army attended the meeting.

The meeting was told that the current month with regard to breeding of larva is very important, therefore, dengue larva should be controlled at every cast. Abdullah Sumbal said that owners of tyre shops, workshops, plazas, shops, petrol and CNG stations, hotels, godowns and commercial places should ensure dengue free environment and in case of finding dengue larva, strict action will be taken against them. He said that anti-dengue campaign should be further accelerated and people should keep their homes and environment dry and clean. He said that cleanliness should be ensured in all areas particularly graveyards in Lahore Walton Cantonment Boards, DHA and Army.

Lubna Faisal said that all concerned departments should evolve a joint strategy for removing garbage to ensure elimination of dengue. Health, Environment and other departments gave briefings about the steps taken for eradication of dengue.
