The participants of National Security Workshop visit CM officeLahore: Provincial Minister for Home, Col. (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada has said that terrorism has caused an irreparable loss to the country and weakened its foundations. He said that that more than 40 thousand officers and jawans of Pak army, police and ordinary citizens have lost their lives in the war against terrorists. He said that the brave armed forces of the country are fighting for survival of Pakistan in North Waziristan and the whole nation is standing with its army. He said that people are proud of the glorious successes achieved by Pak army in operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said that the nation will have to make collective efforts for elimination of poverty, unemployment, darkness and terrorism from the country.

 He was addressing the participants of National Security Workshop of National Defense University at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Assembly members, secretaries of various departments and heads of development institutions were also present on the occasion.

The Minister said that elimination of terrorism is essential for promotion of investment and economic activities. He said that Pak army is fighting against terrorists for making Pakistan a haven of peace and the whole nation is united in the war against terrorists and the day is not far when peace will be restored in the country. He said that besides operation Zarb-e-Azb, implementation of programmes aimed at socio-economic uplift is essential for curbing the trend of extremism.
