A delegation of American Presbyterian Education Board calls on Punjab Education Minister

Minister Education Rana Mashud AhmadLahore: Provincial Minister for Education, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that the target of enrolment of every child in the school in Punjab will be achieved by 2016 at all costs. He said that Punjab government has set record of achieving all targets in education sector on time according to the millennium development goals which will be further improved in coming years.

He said this during a meeting with a 9-member delegation comprising experts of American Presbyterian Education Board led by Paster Edward Morgan from Minnessota, USA at National Hockey Stadium today. Proposal regarding repatriation of Mission High School Rang Mahal and Hajipura Mission School, Lahore to Presbyterian Church was discussed during the meeting. Rana Mashhood Ahmed told the delegation that Punjab government had fixed the target of enrolment of 25 lakh children in primary schools last year. He said that admission has been given to 35 lakh children more than the target whereas the target of enrolment of 40 lakh children in schools has been fixed for next year. He said that the work for providing missing facilities in all government boys schools in South districts and all government girls schools in Punjab has been completed whereas the missing facilities will be provided in all boys schools in the remaining districts of Punjab this year.
