Ayaz Sadiq distributes laptops among students of Queen Mary College

Speaker National Assembaly 1Lahore: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has announced to provide facility of internship of short period in parliamentary studies to the graduate female students of all colleges and universities in Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Affairs Islamabad. He said that the services of 40 researchers from European Union have been acquired for these courses about rules of business of parliamentary affairs and parliamentary traditions which have the experience as young parliamentary associates in European Parliament and House of Commons, UK.

He made this announcement while addressing a function regarding distribution of laptops among 400 female students of Queen Mary College, today. These laptops are being distributed only on merit basis in the third phase of distribution of one lakh laptops among nation builders this year under e-youth initiative of Chief Minister Punjab. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that distribution of laptops in Queen Mary college students in his constituency is an acknowledgement of their abilities by the government. He said that parents cannot give wealth to their children more than the education. He said that the female students can get access to the modern knowledge by one click through their laptops.Speaker National Assembaly 2

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that today’s youth will become future leaders of the country. He said that the number of woman members is 69 out of 342 members of National Assembly and it is fact that woman members National Assembly are playing prominent role in legislation. He offered that the female students can get internship in the courses of parliamentary studies for five days, one month and one and a half months. Ayaz Sadiq said that he has asked provincial education departments to introduce regular courses of parliamentary studies in all government and private universities through Higher Education. He said that information technology has become the source of linking youth with the entire world and our youth can achieve goals through use of information technology. He said it is a proof of the success of E-Youth initiative of Chief Minister Punjab that other provinces have also started this scheme whereas federal government is also providing one lakh laptops to male and female students of the universities of the country.

Secretary Higher Education Punjab Abdullah Khan Sumbal told on the occasion that the total budget of education sector this year is Rs. 274 billion and an amount of Rs. 4.54 billion has been allocated for distribution of free laptops among deserving students. He said that on the special instruction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, detailed negotiations were held with prominent computer manufacturing company DELL and Punjab government has made an additional saving of Rs. 7.89 crore. He said that welfare of the students is top priority of the present government. He said that Chief Minister Punjab does not compromise on the distribution of laptops on hundred percent merit as he believe that information technology is the tool of polishing abilities of the youth.
