PU MMG organizes faculty training programme

PULahore: Punjab University Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG) has organized five-day 3rd faculty professional training program. On inaugural session PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Chairperson MMG Prof Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri, Programme Coordinator Assistant Professor Dr Imran Sajid and faculty members were present.

Addressing to the inaugural session, Dr Mujahid Kamran emphasized on the need of regular faculty trainings and development programs at the university. He said the PU administration was very conscious about its academic standards and research quality and always encouraged such training programs to develop professional skills of faculty members. He encouraged the participating faculty members from various departments, institutes etc and advised them to get maximum benefit from this program. He said that such training programs were also a good opportunity for the participants from different institutes to interact with each other.

Dr Anjum Nasim Sabri welcomed the participants and thanked the university management, Learning Innovation Division (LID) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) for funding and facilitation. Dr Imran Sajid briefed about the objectives of the training program, he mentioned that this was the 3rd faculty training program being organized by the department of MMG in collaboration with LID-HEC. He said there are two core modules in this training program “The Learner’s Psychology and Academic Writing: Process and Skills”.

Thirty eight faculty members from about 20 different departments/institutes of the university and from different affiliated colleges of PU are participating in this program. The training program will continue till Friday 21st November, 2014.
