Punjab government approves additional grant for Shaikh Zayed Hospital

sheikh zaid hospital lahoreLahore: Punjab government has approved additional grant of Rs.511 million for making the extended block of Shaikh Zayed Hospital fully functional in order to provision of better healthcare facilities to the patients as well as increase in the capacity of the hospital.

This was stated by Khawaja Salman Rafique during a visit to Shaikh Zayed Hospital today, Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik accompanied him. Chairman of the hospital Prof. Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Administrator Akbar Hussain and other senior doctors of the hospitals were also present on the occasion. Prof. Farrukh Iqbal said that the new block of the hospital is ready and medical equipment has also been installed. However, he said, approval of SNE for the recruitment of staff and additional grant is required for making the new block functional. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that immediate provision of additional grant will be ensured.

Chairman Prof. Farrukh Iqbal thanked Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for taking personal interest in the development of Shaikh Zayed Hospital and up-gradation of liver transplant section. He said that no effort will be spared by the hospital administration for providing best treatment facilities to the patients in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister.

Kh. Salman Rafiq said that government is taking speedy measures for the setting up of human organ transplant center in Lahore. He said that liver transplant center of Shaikh Zayed Hospital will also be upgraded so that liver transplant facilities could be available to the patients in the country.
