Lahore: On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the second phase of distribution of financial assistance among flood affectees has been started during which an amount of Rs. 58.36 crore will be distributed and this process will be completed within next seven days. In this connection, distribution centers have been set up at Hockey Stadium Satellite Town for flood affectees of Tehsil Jhang and Government Higher Secondary Schools Lalian and Bhawana for flood affectees of other tehsils. Transport has also been arranged by district administration for pick and drop of affectees.
Provincial Minister for Special Education/Incharge Flood Relief Operation Asif Saeed Manhais, Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema and Secretary Cooperative Babar Hayat Tarar visited distribution centers to review the arrangements for provision of second installment of financial assistance to flood affectees. Commissioner Capt. (R) Naseem Nawaz, RPO Ehsan Tufail, DCO Dr. Irshad Ahmed, DPO Abdul Qadir Qamar and other officers were present on the occasion.
Saeed Manhais said that a comprehensive mechanism is being implemented for providing financial assistance to the affectees. He said that special counters have been set up for providing guidance to affectees and removing their complaints. He said that compensation of losses to the houses and crops is being made during second installment. He said that financial assistance is also being provided to those who lost their means of livelihood.
Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema directed administrative officers to discharge their duties efficiently regarding payment of financial assistance to the affectees. He said that no effort should be spared for completing this task.
