Job opportunities will be offered to 40 lakh people : Mujtaba Shuja

Mujtaba Shuja ur RehmanLahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Excise & Taxation and Finance Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that present government has levied tax only on elite and well-to-do-people while tax on big houses and increase in the duty of luxury vehicles. He said that property tax has been increased after 14 years and this increase will also be imposed on big houses as well as affluent people.

He said that in result of government economic policies and current fiscal year’s budget, job opportunities will be offered to 40 lakh people whereas 20 lakh people will be provided technical training so that to make them self-sufficient. He said that Punjab government wants to upgrade the growth rate of the province to 8 percent till next four years and in result of it, more than 70 lakh people will be able to live above poverty line.

While talking to party workers at his residence, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that priority is being paid to education and health sectors and development budget of   current fiscal year is 17 percent more as compared to previous year. He said that the budget allocated for education Rs.274 billion which is 26.25 percent of total expenditures whereas the budget allocated for health Rs.121.80 billon which is 11.66 percent of total expenditures of the government. He said that 36 percent of development budget has been allocated for south Punjab so that maximum development projects will be completed in the less developed districts.

He said that government has provided five billion rupees in the provincial budget and federal government will also provide the same amount for providing relief to the farmers. He said that a subsidy of Rs.10 billion will be given to the farmers on DAP fertilizer as the farmer’s community is the backbone of our economy. He said that workers’ minimum wages have also increased from Rs.10 thousand to Rs.12 thousand per month.
