Siraj ul Haq demands death sentence for Pervaiz Musharraf

pic amir jip (1)Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has called upon the government to adopt emergency measures to overcome the feelings of deprivation among the people of Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta n Saturday, he also stressed upon the federal government to stop secret activities in Balochistan and create an atmosphere conducive for talks.

Sirajul Haq said that Balochistan, the largest province of the country in terms of area and rich in natural resources, had remained neglected by all the past governments.  A few development projects had been undertaken in the province during the last 68 years and it also suffered heavily due to the Afghan Jehad and the presence of NATO troops in Afghanistan.

Sirajul Haq said there had been no secession movement in Balochistan and there had been only a movement for basic rights. However, when the rulers did not give attention to the movement and the youth of the Balochistan were not given a hearing, some of them joined those raising slogans of separation.  He said the journalists all over the world were ensured security even during a war, but as many as 40 newsmen were martyred in Balochistan through bombings and target killings, and the assassins had not been traced.

He said the issue of the missing persons was also serious and was a scar on the face of a democratic society. He also called for an independent probe into the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti. He demanded that relief work should be taken in hand for rehabilitation of the people of  the Bugti and the Mari tribes in their own areas. The provincial government should be taken into confidence for resolving the problem of load shedding and the usage of precious minerals in the province.
