Raja Ashfaq assures foolproof security in Rawalpindi on ashura

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar chairing law & order meeting in RawalpindiLahore: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that foolproof steps had been adopted to ensure law and order and security during Ashura-e-Muharram by District administration and Police in Rawalpindi. The Ulema of all schools of thought had been kept on board to seek their close cooperation to maintain sectarian harmony.

He stated this in a meeting held in the office of Commissioner Rawalpindi on Saturday to review security plan of Ashura-e-Muharram. The Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed, RPO Umar Akhtar Hayat Lalika, DCO Sajid Zafar Daal, CPO, Humayun Basheer Tarar, Malik Ibrar Ahmed MNA, Raja Javed Ikhlas MNA, Raja Ateeq Sarwar, Malik Shakeel Awan, Mirza Mansoor Baig and officers of law enforcing attended the meeting.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that it is our moral, religious and national obligation that we should play our due role in maintaining religious peace and harmony during Muharram and keeping in view the critical situation, local administration of Rawalpindi and other district of Rawalpindi Division has chalked out detailed security plans to provide full security cover during Majalis and processions of Muharram. He said each and every aspect relating to law and order had been kept in mind to evolve security plan. He further revealed that 200 close circuit cameras had been installed along the routes of Muharram procession while a master control room has been set up to monitor the situation.

 Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that the members of provincial cabinet and PML (N) leaders and workers would remain present along with Muharram procession to ensure peace and tranquility. He said that Ulema belonging to all sects would also present during the procession.

 The Commissioner Rawalpindi and RPO also shared the salient features of security plans with the participants and said that deployment of large number of police and law enforcement agencies officials had been made to maintain law and order situation and nobody would be given any change to create any hurdle in the Muharram processions or any other activity to dispute the atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
