PTI’s resignation are not any solution to the issues : Siraj ul Haq

Siraj ul HaqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the economic policies of the government, and not the sit-ins, were responsible for the poor economy in the country.

Talking to the media at Quetta airport, he said that the economic conditions in the country had been poor even before the sit-ins, and added that if the rulers reviewed their  economic policies and brought these in line with the nation’s , the political ups and downs would not matter much.

The JI chief said that no relief was provided to the masses in the budget nor any  attention was given to the solution of the common man’s problems, as all privileges  and benefits were meant for a few.He said unless and until, the rulers freed themselves from the hold of the IMF and World Bank and adopted policies based on self reliance, the country’s economy could not improve.

Sirajul Haq again urged the government to show restraint on the issue of the PTIs resignation, as resignation did not provide any solution to the issues. He said he had counseled the government and the PTI on behalf of the national Jirga to resume talks and turn the prevailing political crisis into a national agreement so that the country’s politics  could move ahead according to the spirit of the constitution.

Expressing full sympathies with the people of Balochistan, he said all the governments  had been making tall promises for the solution of the problems of Balochistan, however, no attention was given to these at the federal and provincial level. The people of the province remained without the facilities of education, health care and employment and the construction of roads and infrastructure was also being delayed.

The JI chief appealed to the people to demonstrate complete unity during Muharram  to foil the enemy designs.

Addressing a large public meeting at Loralai,Siraj ul Haq said that the JI had made sincere efforts to resolve the political crisis and obstructed the martial law, and it was due its endeavour that the democratic system still prevailed in the country.

He said that Pakistan had been established for practicing the Islamic system of life, and the Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had repeatedly declared that the Holy Quran would be the constitution of Pakistan.

He said that immediately after the demise of the Quaid e Azam, bureaucracy and the feudal lords established their control over the country and shut down the doors of education, economy and state institutions to Islamic principles and teachings. All the past governments had been protecting the interests of the elite ignoring the downtrodden masses.

The JI chief said that the ruling elite and the bureaucracy did not want to change the prevailing educational, health care and judicial systems because their children did not study at government schools and colleges nor they visited the government hospitals for treatment. Had their children been getting education at government schools and colleges, and they been visiting government hospitals, the condition of these institutions would not have been so miserable, he added.

Referring to the Afghanistan situation, Sirajul Haq said that the presence of NATO forces was the root cause of problems and peace could no return to the region as long as NATO troops stayed there.

JI Balochistan chief Akhundzada Abdul Mateen, also addressed the gathering.
