Turkish delegation shows interest in joint ventures

Board of Investment and TradeLahore:  A 10-member Turkish trade delegation headed by Osman OZEN, Secretary General Denizli Businessmen Association Turkey visited Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT). The purpose of the visit of the delegation was to explore the possibilities of trade and investment in the areas of textile, medical equipment and cable manufacturing machinery.

Ms. Tayyaba Kamal Director Communication, gave a brief presentation to the participants regarding vision, mission and functions of PBIT.

The delegation displayed a keen inclination in initiating mutually beneficial projects, whereby both the countries can develop and strengthen their joint investment policies and projects. The areas of collaboration that came under discussion were services, textile, tourism, healthcare and medical equipment. It was also decided that projects of Punjab should be shared with the Turkish business associations in order to bring investment to Punjab, Pakistan.

Delegation members said they had very fruitful meetings with the Pak Turk Business Association (PTBA) and some local companies in Pakistan, urging PBIT to encourage Pakistani companies to participate in the events taking place in Turkey resulting in boosting bilateral relations between the two countries. In recognition of PBIT’s role in facilitating foreign investors, Osman OZEN expressed his desire to continue this working relationship and hoped that together they would achieve many more future goals.
