Pakistan cannot afford politics of sit-ins, protests and chaos :Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is passing through the most critical phase of its history and is facing energy crisis, poverty, unemployment, extremism and other challenges. He said that there is a need for national unity at this stage and for all political parties and their leaders to play their due role to steer the country out of problems and issues. He said that Pakistan cannot afford politics of sit-ins, protests and chaos and the elements engaged in such activities have hampered the process of national development for the achievement of their selfish interests. He said that those staging sit-ins have undermined the serious efforts for taking the country out of darkness and they will never be forgiven by history.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Muslim League-N government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will continue its efforts for the progress and prosperity of the country and the day is not far when Pakistan will overcome all its problems and become a welfare state in the real sense.

He was talking to a delegation of assembly members and Muslim League-N workers of various districts, here today. The Chief Minister said that due to solid economic policies of the government, Pakistani currency had stabilized and the economic indicators had also improved but the politics of sit- ins and sabotage has caused an irreparable damage to the national economy. He said that due to sit-ins, the important visits of President of China and other foreign delegations have been postponed. He said that agreements for investment of billions of dollars were to be signed while foundation stone of several power projects was to be laid during the visit of the Chinese President.

Shahbaz Sharif said that 18 crore people of Pakistan will never forgive the elements who destroyed the future of the coming generations. He said that the real faces of such elements as hatched the conspiracy to create hurdles in the process of progress and prosperity have been exposed and they should know that nothing can hamper the process of national development and Pakistan will reach its destination. He said that the goal of progress and prosperity will be achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The Chief Minister further said that Muslim League-N has been given a mandate of five years which will be honoured and the process of public service will continue. He said that untimely sit-ins and so-called revolution have met their death. Shahbaz Sharif further said that Muslim League-N government is serving the people of Punjab selflessly for the last six and a half years and new records of public service will be set in future. He said that mega projects worth billions of rupees have been executed in Punjab speedily and in a transparent manner. He said that a large number of people are benefitting from Ashiyana housing scheme, Punjab educational endowment fund, provision of free medicines, mobile health units, metro bus service, Daanish school system, modern infrastructure and other welfare programmes. He said that the process of speedy completion of public welfare projects will be continued in future as well and no effort will be spared for the progress and prosperity of the masses. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan will be steered out of problems and put on the road to progress and development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Assembly members and Muslim League-N workers paid glowing tributes to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his services to the people and said that Punjab is making rapid progress under his leadership. They said that mega development projects and modern infrastructure are a proof of speedy progress of the province. They said that Shahbaz Sharif has set records of public service and has stood by the distressed people in every hour of trial including floods, earthquakes and outbreak of diseases. They said that people of Punjab deeply love Shahbaz Sharif.
