Steps are being taken for the up-gradation of Punjab Public Relations Department

Lahore: Parliamentary Secretary Information and Culture, Muhammad Arshad has said that process of modernizing of all provincial departments on scientific lines has been started in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister. In this regard, practical steps are being taken for the up-gradation of Punjab Public Relations Department, he added. He said that monitoring committees are also being constituted for ensuring transparent utilization of development funds.

He expressed these views while addressing a departmental meeting held at Committee Room of Alhamra Hall. Additional Secretary Information Rana Fazaa Abbas, Executive Director Lahore Arts Council, DG PILAC, Secretary Sensor Board, Executive Director Punjab Arts Council, Director Iqbaliat Academy and officers of DGPR were also present on the occasion.

Rana Arshad said that steps are being taken on emergent basis for the up-gradation of Public Relations Department and harmonizing it with modern demands. He said that arts councils of the province have been directed to take strict action against those involved in vulgarity so that quality dramas could be seen again with families. He said that books written on Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal will be published at government level for the benefit of new generation.

He lauded the services rendered by Information Department during the recent flood. He said that a new history is being written through the services of Punjab Chief Minister regarding relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees in the province.
