Players have to more confident if they want to qualify for the final:Col Asif Dar

Col Asif DarLahore:Former Manager Coach Pakistan Kabaddi Team Col. Asif Dar has  said that Kabaddi team tamely lost to India 11-23 in 12th day of the Asian Games . Infact Pakistan Kabaddi team was giving a super fit look before the match but its first raider while entering in the Indian court lost balance and gifted a point to India. After this mishap Pakistan team never looked in fighting shape and most of the time our players were defensive in their own court as well as the Indian court. The half-time score 4-17 and in the second half India just played a formal game but even then our players at any moment tried to attack the Indian players. Though in the second half Pakistan scored 7 as compared to India’s 6. But second half margin could have been much wider in favour of Pakistan had Pakistani players turned offensive.

Tomorrow, Pakistan is playing against Iran who like them are physically super fit. In the last Asian Games defeated Pakistan and this time they will be more confident. Team management should focus to utilize the experience edge over Iran and ask the players to be more confident if they want to qualify for the final.

Ofcourse, while playing final they may keep this fact in mind that in 1993 Pakistan defeated India in several matches at Birmingham and then in Dhaka SAF Games to win the Gold medal. If Pakistan can defeated India 21 years back, why can’t they do so now. Good luck Pakistan Kabaddi Team.
