Arrangements finalized for sports in high security cover in Lahore

Lahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will go to every extent to provide top level security to its players and international sports teams, these views were expressed by Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar while talking to media here on Saturday.

He said that the construction work on fourteen security gates in Nishtar Park Sports Complex has reached halfway stage and it will be completed within a short span of time. “We are well aware of the importance of security and that’s why a well-built wall is also being erected around the sports venues situated within the vicinity of Nishtar Park Sports Complex. In this way we can host international sports events without any trouble in future,” he explained.

“The construction of fourteen gates will help SBP in making our sports venues safe and sound for every kind of sports activities,” he further said.

Answering a question about the quality of work, DG SBP Usman Anwar informed that SBP will not compromise on the quality of construction work. “We are using top standard material and our all security check posts will be laced with modern security equipments so that our security personnel can cope with any kind of situation adequately,” he elaborated.

To another question about the sports facilities in Nishtar Park Sports Complex, DG SBP said that international teams will find all top level facilities at one place and that time is not far when we will be able to organize international sports like rest of the world,” he said in a determined tone.

When asked about the sporting potential in Pakistan he told that there was plenty of talent in our country. “We are taking all the measures to preserve the emerging talent. Every kind of help is being extended to young players and that’s the major reason we are getting adequate talent in all sports,” he added.
