Punjab government opens the door of employment

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law & Education Rana Mashud Ahmed Khan has directed Chairmen of Intermediate and Secondary Boards of all divisions of the province that besides installation of automation and latest computer software system, process of recruitment of officials having expertise in information technology as per requirement should be completed in their institutions by December 31 this year so that transparency and supremacy of merit could be ensured in all educational boards.

While presiding over a meeting of Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen, here today, Rana Mashud Ahmed Khan said that due to the capacity building of educational boards, confidence of the people have restored in their performance.

Rana Mashud told that on his request, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given special permission of recruitment of technical staff relating to computerization of educational boards throughout province and this category has been exempted from the ban on recruitment in government jobs. He told that permission has also been granted to educational boards for purchasing information technology equipments as per their requirement.

Education Minister directed that recruitment committee of every educational board should complete the work of new recruitment and purchase of necessary equipment by December 31 in a transparent manner.

The meeting also decided to prepare volunteer force comprising male and female students on the pattern of “community service workforce” of Europe in public and private schools and colleges of the province.

The proposed force of volunteers will be established on permanent basis and it will help in relief and rehabilitation activities of affectees during flood, earthquake, dengue virus, IDPs or any other natural calamity.

Rana Mashud directed DPI Colleges, Divisional Directors Colleges and EDOs (Education) of every district to evolve a coordinated strategy under the supervision of Secretary Higher Education and Secretary Schools Education with regard to giving special incentives to the male and female students joining volunteer force.
