Relief and rehabilitation work is underway in flood hit area:Ahmad Javaid Qazi

Ahmad Javaid QaziLahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi has said that supply of essential items to the flood affectees is continuing with the mutual cooperation between district administrations and PDMA and 85 thousand six hundred tents, two lakh 30 thousand mineral water bottles, three lakh 84 thousand water purifying tablets, one lakh 80 thousand five hundred food hampers, 12 thousand flour bags, 430 life jackets, ten water filtration plants and 9500 mosquito nets have been distributed among flood-hit people.

Ahmad Javaid Qazi further told that 77 large motor boats have also been provided to administrations of different districts with the help of which six lakh 18 thousand and 72 marooned people have been shifted to safer areas. He said that quality food is being provided to 52 thousand 195 flood-hit people three times a day at 457 relief camps. He said that medical facilities have been provided to three lakh 72 thousand and 110 flood affectees while one crore 69 lakh 77 thousand and 959 cattle have been vaccinated. He said that instructions have been issued to administrations of all flood-hit districts to accelerate the process of drainage of floodwater from low-lying areas so that calamity-stricken people could return to their homes. He said that instructions have also been issued for spray against viral diseases in all union councils of the province.
