Rana Mashud announces to start in-service professional training of college teachers

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has announced to give the shape of in-service professional training of college teachers to a regular programme of University of Education. This training programme will start from next month in ten campuses of University of Education whereas pre-service training for newly recruited school and college teachers will also be held in Directorate of Staff Development.

He said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of a 10-day in-service training workshop of college teachers in Directorate of Research of University of Education, Township Campus, Lahore, here today. Secretary Higher Education Punjab Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Director Colleges Lahore Rana Nasim Akhtar, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Noman Jamil, Course Coordinator Dr. Mubashar Nadim, Registrar Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chaudhry and Vice Chancellor University of Education Dr. Faizul Hassan also expressed their views on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that in-service training of college teachers has been made compulsory part of roadmap of education sector programme reforms introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and this programme is also being introduced as a regular feature of pre-service training of newly recruited teachers. He said that Higher Education Department Punjab will also provide funds for PhD programme of college teachers. He said that the teachers should bring the education standard of public universities at par with the international standard as education is the only key to progress of the country.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the teachers are real leaders of Pakistani nation who are performing their duties with devotion and providing education to the young generation.
