Health Department is providing medical facilities to the flood affectees round the clock

Photo LGHLahore:  624 medical teams and 194 ambulances of Health Department are providing medical facilities to the flood affectees round the clock whereas more than two lakh four thousand flood affectees have been provided medical facilities so far.

According to health department vaccination of 70049 children has been conducted to save them from viral diseases and 66351 children have also been administered polio drops and this process is continuing. The spokesman said that vaccination of pregnant women to save them from Tetanus disease is also continuing and medical teams of Punjab Health Department are visiting door to door for this purpose and 3936 pregnant women have been vaccinated as yet.

Moreover, special teams of Punjab Health Department are collecting samples of water from 11 affected districts. Moreover, aquapura pills are also being provided to the masses and more than eight lakh pills have also been provided to the affectees.

Kh. Salman Rafique has reiterated that complete medical cover will be provided to the flood affectees. He thanked WHO and UNICEF for extending full cooperation to provincial Health Department in medical relief activities and appreciated their services.
