CM KPK is participating in dance and music programme ,leaving the distressed people of his province alone: Shahbaz Sharif

Flood in PunjabLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited flood affected areas of Multan and Muzaffargarh for 10 hours on the 14th consecutive day today and reviewed relief and rehabilitation activities.

The Chief Minister Punjab accompanied by Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Maalik Baloch visited tent villages near Graywala Pull in the flood-hit area of Head Muhammad Wala Multan. Two Provincial Ministers of Balochistan Sarfraz Bughti and Abdul Rahim Zayarat also accompanied them.

Chief Minister Balochistan gave a cheque of financial assistance for 10 crore rupees and 3 trucks of relief items for the flood affectees of Punjab. Addressing calamity hit people and public gathering after reviewing relief activities, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that people of Punjab will always remember the love and brotherhood shown by Chief Minister Balochistan and Balochi people for the flood affectees of Punjab at this moment of need. He said that Chief Minister Balochistan has come to the flood-hit people whereas Chief Minister of KPK is participating in dance and music programme in Islamabad leaving the distressed people of his province alone. He said that 30 people died in flood in Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa while the Chief Minister of Province is enjoying dance and music in Islamabad.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Imran Khan has won 33 national assembly seats in Punjab but he has forgotten the people of the province at this critical hour. He said that instead of helping the distressed people, Imran Khan arranges music shows in the evening for which people of Punjab will never forgive him. He said that if Imran Khan does not want to quit the sit-in he should at least postpone it and help the flood affectees.  He lamented that while Punjab is inundated, Imran Khan is arranging music and dance shows.  He said that people of Punjab will not forgive Imran Khan for his apathy to the people of the province at this moment of trial.  He said that Imran Khan should have stood by the flood affectees at this difficult moment. He said it is also a fact that Tahir ul Qadri who has no concern with the flood affectees as he has come from Canada will return to his country. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government will extend help to the flood-hit people and he will not rest content till complete rehabilitation and the payment of compensation to all affectees. He said that compensatory amount will be paid to the affectees before Eid-ul-Azha. He said the people of Punjab will not forget the kind gesture of Chief Minister Baluchistan and are thankful to him for relief assistance of ten crore rupees and three trucks of relief items.

The Chief Minister further said that financial assistance, seeds and fertilizers will be given to the flood-hit farmers so that they could cultivate their land and make the country prosperous. He said that government will continue to support and assist the flood affectees till they stand on their own feet. He said that political leadership, Pak-Army, air force, navy, administration and concerned departments will continue their relief activities till the flood affected people are rehabilitated.

The Chief Minister while talking to media, before his departure from Chenab relief camp at Multan said that relief work for the flood hit people will continue on Eid and afterward as well and the first installment of financial assistance will be paid to the affectees before Eid-ul-Azha. Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Maalik Baloch in his address said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is a worker. He offered to help the flood affectees and said that he is ready to serve the devastated people in the company of Chief Minister Punjab. He said that sit-in in Islamabad is destroying national economy and it is high time to end the protest. He said that investment in Gwadar and energy sector is facing delay due to sit-in.

Earlier, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif received Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Maalik Baloch and two Provincial Ministers at the airport.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also visited Sher Shah Bund and Qasim Bela in Multan and reviewed the flood situation and relief activities. He also distributed relief items among the flood affectees of Sher Shah and the nearby villages through helicopter.  He personally distributed relief goods in the calamity hit people through low flight of helicopter.

He directed administration that for the convenience of the people, Multan-Muzaffargarh road should be repaired within three days and opened for traffic. He said that technical faults in the bridges on rivers will be removed so as to minimize future losses due to flood. He said that hard-working people are the asset of the country and all out resources are being utilized for resolving the problems of workers and labourers. He said that Federal and Provincial governments will make joint efforts for the complete rehabilitation of the flood-hit people. He said that Imran Khan has no concern with the problems and difficulties of the distressed people, otherwise, he would have stopped his sit-in and music programme in Islamabad and would have been helping the flood affectees.

The Chief Minister during his visit to Qasim Bela area of Multan also met the family which had lost the dowry of its daughters in flood water. He gave cheques of financial assistance to the parents of two girls. It may be mentioned that dowry of Shazia and Nazia daughters of Khadim Hussain and Fatima Bibi of village Akbarpur tehsil Multan had been lost in flood and the Chief Minister has taken notice of this news over media. Shahbaz Sharif also visited tent village for the flood hit people in Qasim Bela and inquired about their problems. He also went to the flood affected areas of Rangpur, Muzaffargarh and visited relief camp for the flood hit people and also reviewed the relief operation.

The Chief Minister directed the administration that the flood-hit people should be given food three time a day at any cost. He said that more resources will be provided for the relief of flood hit people if needed. He also directed that rehabilitation should be undertaken with the same spirit as was shown in the relief and rescue operation. Shahbaz Sharif said that he will also supervise rehabilitation of the flood-hit people. He said that with the grace of Allah Almighty and timely action taken by the government thousands of lives have been saved.
