Up-to-date information regarding flood situation is available on Punjab Govt website

Lahore: Spokesman of Punjab government has said that all out resources are being utilized for the help and assistance to flood affectees while up-to-date information regarding flood situation is available round the clock on website, floodrelief.punjab.gov.pk, for the benefit of media and general public.

The spokesman said that 16 helicopters of the Punjab government and 87 bulldozers are engaged in relief and rescue activities for the flood affectees. He further said that Punjab government has set up a total of 389 relief camps so far while 214025 persons have been shifted to safe places. Moreover, 718 health camps have been established and 26374 patients have been provided medical assistance. Similarly, 1986830 cattle have been vaccinated.

The spokesman further told that provincial government has released funds of two billion rupees for the relief and rehabilitation activities for flood-hit people. Moreover, he said, committees have been set up for the rehabilitation of flood affectees and assessment of losses. He said that 47000 tents, two lakh 40 thousand mineral water bottles, one lakh 90 thousand and five hundred food hampers, 457 life jackets, 18 dewatering sets and 12 modern water filtration plants have so far been distributed among flood affectees. He said that 28 relief camps and 12 tent villages have been set in Muzaffargarh. He said that food is served three times a day to more than two thousand affectees staying at the relief camps in Muzaffargarh.

The spokesman further said that 1430 tents, 9205 bags of flour, 1632 bags of rice, 20204 water bottles and 12780 food hampers have been distributed among flood affectees in Jhang. Moreover, medical facilities have been provided to 5500 flood affectees in Jhang through 23 medical camps and 20 mobile teams.
