Lahore Lions team is just like well knit unit: Stoppers Mohsin Naseer , Ramzan Jani

Lahore Lions stoppers Mohsin Naseer Wahla and Muhammad Ramzan JaniLahore: After four victories in World Kabaddi League (WKL) against tough rivals, the moral of our boys are quite high and we will offer satisfactory performance in our next WKL matches, these views were expressed by Lahore Lions stoppers Mohsin Naseer Wahla and Muhammad Ramzan Jani while talking to media at SBP offices on Thursday.

Wahla said that the prospects are bright for our team to win the WKL title. “We are well aware of challenges we are going to face in the next encounters but our players are well prepared to play any team,” he said in a determined tone.

To a question about the recent Kabaddi success of Pakistan team at home and abroad, Wahla told that these days Pakistan Kabaddi was being run by the right people. “Sports Board Punjab (SBP) had a major role in present day healthy position of Pakistan Kabaddi. Director General SBP Usman Anwar, Punjab Sports Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan are the personalities who gave great boost to Pakistan Kabaddi through their untiring efforts,” he elaborated.

Ramzan Jani, 22, was quite upbeat about the performance of his team in next matches. “Our team is comprised of some best kabaddi players of the world and with the grace of Allah, the Almighty, we will defeat the strong teams like Khalsa Warriors in our coming matches,” he stressed.

Answering a query about the future of kabaddi in Pakistan Jani told: “Kabaddi is our traditional game and we are quite fortunate to have great Kabaddi potential in our youngsters. Our four young players – Rehman Ishtiaq, Saifullah, Rana Naeem and M Zubair – are showing decent performances in the ongoing WKL and that’s the reason we can say with proud that the future of kabaddi is bright in our country,” he explained.

When asked about the reasons behind Lahore Lions’ defeat at the hands of Khalsa Warriors, Jani informed that the result of that match could have been different had our top players not missed the key encounter due to different reasons. “Mohsin Wahla, Shafiq Chishti and Akmal Shahzad Dogar were not fully fit due to different injuries and four young but talented players Lala Obaidullah, Waqas Raheem, M Matloob and Rana Naeem could not travel to India,” he added.

To another question Jani said that Lahore Lions team is just like well knit unit under the captaincy of Babar Gujjar, coach Ghulam Abbas Butt and manager Waqas Akbar.
