Secretary Health constitutes committee to probe the death of 7 newly born babies

Lahore: On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique alongwith Director General Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz reached DHQ Hospital, Vehari to probe into the deaths of seven new born babies in the hospital allegedly due to non-availability of oxygen. Khawaja Salman Rafique will meet the heirs of children and submit a separate report to the Chief Minister regarding the tragic incident.

Moreover, Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik has also constituted a 4-member expert enquiry committee and the members of the committee have also reached the hospital.

The enquiry committee comprises Associate Professor. Dr. Haroon Hamid of the Children Hospital Lahore Convener, Associate Professor, Dr. Nasir Rana, Associate Professor, Dr. Sikandar Hayat, Children Hospital Lahore and Biomedical Engineer Mazhar Mahmood. The Committee will furnish its report within 24 hours.
