8 helicopters are engaged in provision of relief items and evacuation of flood affectees :DG PDMA

Lahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi while presiding over a departmental meeting here today informed that on the directions of Chief Minister eight helicopters are engaged in provision of relief items and evacuation of flood affectees in the calamity-hit areas of Chiniot, Jhang and Sargodha.

He said that 35500 tents, 94635 mineral water bottles, 50500 food hampers and 365 life jackets have been provided to the flood-hit people of affected districts. He said that 3500 tents and 20 thousand bags of rice have been provided to administration of Muzaffargarh, 5000 tents and 1600 bags of rice to Multan district and 1500 tents and 4000 food hampers to Layyah for calamity hit people.

DG PDMA said that 299 relief camps have been set up in flood affected areas while 747 medical camps have been established for the provision of medical assistance to the affectees. He said that 11 lakh 48 thousand cattle have been vaccinated.
