JI supports PM resignation if rigging proved: Siraj ul Haq

 Siraj ul HaqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Siraj ul Haq, has said that the JI had given a proposal to the PTI chairman, Imran Khan that if an enquiry commission comprising Supreme Court judges after a thorough probe, held that rigging had taken place in the elections not only the Prime Minister would resign but fresh elections would also be held in the country. He said that all the political parties in the parliament would be guarantors in this respect.

He was briefing the media after a national consultative conference organized by the JI in Islamabad to discuss the political crisis in the country.  Prominent among those attending the moot were Syed Khurshid Shah, Maulana Samiul Haq and Hasil Bizenjo.

Siraj ul Haq said that all political and democratic loving forces should realize the gravity of the situation and play their role in resolving the situation.He said all political parties and leaders condemned the attack on the parliament and the PTV building.

The JI chief said that Imran Khan had presented six main demands of which five had been accepted. However, the sixth demand of related to the Prime Minister’s resignation was not acceptable to the government.
