National Institute of Disaster Management gives two day training to PEF employees and partner schools

PEFLahore: National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM)- a subsidiary of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has successfully completed two phases of hands-on training of PEF employees and partner schools on the topic of disaster risk reduction in educational institutions.

This training is part of NDM’s UN sponsored ‘school safety program’ for principals and teachers of educational institutions.

The two day training was held at PEF head office which was attended by employees and partner school representatives. NIDM’s Naeem Sajid (specialist capacity building) and Asif Iqbal (director training) performed the training while rescue 1122 experts trained the participants about first aid and fire safety. The participants were also sensitized about disaster management, schools safety, risk assessment and active response to emergency situations.

The next round of DRR training will be held in Multan for PEF partner schools.
