JI opposes dissolution of assemblies:Siraj ul Haq

Siraj ul HaqLahore: An emergent meeting of the Jamaat e Islami’s MNA’s and MPAs from the Khyber P. held at Al-Markaz al Islami, Peshawar on Wednesday categorically decided that any unconstitutional and undemocratic would not be accepted and that the National Assembly as also the provincial assemblies must be allowed to complete their term.

The meeting was chaired by JI provincial chief Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan while the  Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, was also present. It also decided that the Khyber P. assembly must not be dissolved under any situation.

The meeting decided that any change, whether of the Prime Minister, the term of the parliament or the electoral reforms, must be decided in accordance with the constitution of the Islamic Republic. It warned that if a precedent of change through sit-in or under pressure was set, the country would plunge into anarchy and chaos and Pakistan’s mage in the comity of the nations would suffer badly.

The Ameer, JI, Sirajul Haq, apprised the meeting of his efforts for reconciliation between the government and the PTI. The meeting decided that the JI would fully back the forces striving for the supremacy of the constitution, the parliament and democracy.

Earlier, the JI chief, at a press conference on the spot, said that the 1973 constitution was nothing short of a miracle and if it was abrogated, it would become hard to keep the different communities and factions living in the country united. He said that the country’s economy had suffered seriously because of the prevailing political crisis.

The JI chief said that because of the follies of the politicians, the power for resolving the current situation had shifted from Islamabad to Rawalpindi. However, he said that he had not lost hope as yet and would continue his efforts for solution of the crisis through talks.

Replying to questions, Sirajul Haq said that the constituencies wherein rigging had allegedly taken place, were in the Punjab therefore, there was n fun in dissolving the Khyber P provincial assembly.

Asked to comment on Imran khan’s bid to enter the Prime Minister House by force, Sirajul Haq said there was a lawful way of entering any house and the same must be adopted.
