Demand for technocrat govt is a conspiracy against the democracy: Minister for law

Minister Law rana mashud ahmadLahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Imran Khan by demanding setting up of technocrats’ government has exposed his real agenda. He said this demand is tantamount to slap on the faces of political leaders of the country including the politicians of Tehrik-e-Insaf who have rendered numerous sacrifices for democracy.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam today. Provincial Minister for Police Reforms and Environment Col. Retd. Shuja Khazada and AIG Police (Operations) Punjab Romail Akram were also present on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that Imran Khan is the first politician who has withdrawn the right of rule by representative politicians of the people. He said that the desire of resignation of elected Prime Minister and setting up of a technocrat government is violation of law and conspiracy against the democracy. He said that the nation will express no confidence against Imran Khan expressing no confidence against elected representatives. He said that Imran Khan will not be able to rid himself of his agenda forever and the nation will never forgive him. He said that Pakistani nation will never allow such an immature person to rule through its votes.

In such a condition, Imran Khan will demand for an imported nation to vote for him. The Law Minister said that such a situation will never come. He said that Imran Khan has raised question mark on the transparency of the whole election starting from the demand of opening the result of four constituencies. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has accepted the demand of reviewing the alleged irregularities in the entire election by three judges of Supreme Court but Imran Khan is not accepting it as he knows that people of Pakistan hate him. According to the recent survey of PILDAT, 67 percent Pakistanis have described the present democratic government as the best system while only 17 percent people have supported the proposal of Imran Khan of setting up of a technocrat government.

He said that Imran Khan will also lose his supporters in the coming days due to his stubborn attitude. He said that district and tehsil bar associations of the whole Punjab have rejected the long march and everyone is talking to save democracy from derailing.

Referring to Barrister Hamid Khan and senior politician Javed Hashmi, big names of movement for judiciary restoration, why these personalities are not present with Imran Khan in the long march, the Minister questioned? He said that Imran Khan has been isolated, therefore, he has made Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf a B team of PAT by joining so-called Maulvi.

Replying to a question, Rana Mashhood Khan said that PTI is a political force participating in democratic process and we will give it way but before this, it will have to settle the security measures and rout of long march by sitting with government and the administration. He said that government cannot leave its citizens on the mercy of terrorists. He said that sleeper cells of terrorists are working in the province and according to the information of agencies, target killers of an organization have been deputed on the route of long march in Lahore on August 14. He said that target killers have come from abroad and these dangerous people have been sent to destroy the peace of Punjab. He said that government has warned PTI about this threat time and again. He said that 21 terrorists have been identified and 20 persons have been rounded up so far. He said that if Tahirul Qadri handover those persons of PAT who killed police officials through violence and set private and public properties on fire to the government, then dialogue can also be held with him for giving way.
