SBP’s Lahore Lions kabaddi team to depart for London today

Lahore: Sports Board Punjab’s Lahore Lions kabaddi team will leave for London on Saturday (today) to feature in the World Kabaddi League (WKL) tournament. The World Kabaddi League will be inaugurated on August 9 in the British capital in a grand opening ceremony.

The SBP team will play its first match against Canada’s Vancouver Lions.Punjab Minister for Law and Sports Rana  Mashhood Ahmed Khan, in his message to the SBP kabaddi team, said that the entire nation was proud of national kabaddi team. “We are quite hopeful that our team will perform excellently in the grand event exactly as per the expectations of the nation,” he added.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, in a statement, expressed his hope that SBP team will earn good name for the country like they did in the Kabaddi World Cup in India last year. He advised the SBP kabaddi players to take the field with full confidence and preparation and showed the world that Pakistan players were at par with rest of the world.
