Pak India fix kabaddi match in London

Minister Sports rana mashudLahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that professional Kabaddi teams of Lahore Lions and Faisalabad Wolfs will represent Pakistan in 86 matches of First World Kabaddi League starting from August 9 in London.

He stated this while talking to media after meeting with Minister of Rural Development and Punchayat Indian Punjab Sirdar Sakandar Singh Maluka Behniwal and Puneet Singh Chandhok Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, visiting Lahore to give final shape to arrangements of world kabaddi league.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan informed that both Kabaddi teams of Pakistan will leave for London within next couple of days to participate in world league. Welcoming the delegation of Indian Punjab, the Minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is taking personal interest in the promotion of sports. He said that Kabaddi is equally popular both in Indian and Pakistani Punjab. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given us a vision that this traditional sport should be introduced at international level. He said it is a good omen that the sports of Kabaddi has reached in 30 countries of the world through world Kabaddi league and now this sport is being played in the countries which include in five continents.

Minister of Rural Development Indian Punjab Sirdar Sakandar Singh Maluka Behniwal said that Kabaddi is popular among the common people. He expressed the hope that people of Pakistan and India will come closer through sports, friendship will be promoted between the two countries and the financial condition of players will be improved.

Puneet Singh Chandhok informed that the inaugural match of world Kabaddi league is being played on August 9 in London while the final match will be played in Mohali, Indian Punjab. He said that eight teams participating in first Kabaddi league include India, Pakistan, Canada, America and Britain. He said that after Kabaddi matches in London and Birmingham, matches will also be played in Delhi and Mumbai. After this, international matches of Kabaddi will be played in New York, Stockholm, Vancouver, Amritsar, Bathanda, Lahore and Faisalabad. Matches will be played in Lahore and Faisalabad on September 23 and 25 respectively.
