Economic indicators showing positive trend: Ishaq Dar

Ishaq Dar presents budget 2014-15Lahore:Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that budget deficit has reduced to 8.2 percent from previous 8.8 percent while the trade deficit has reduced by 2.55 percent, Forex and stock markets are working positively and pak rupee has strengthened against dollar.Finance Minister was talking to media in Islamabad today.

Ishaq Dar said market capitalization has increased by 44 percent in terms of rupees and the government is trying to increase the tax net. He said over 16 percent growth was recorded in revenue collections in the outgoing fiscal year.

While taking parliamentarians into confidence about the financial position of the country in the session,Ishaq Dar said LNG import is likely to start by the end of this year to help address the issue of gas shortage.

The government will achieve foreign reserves target of 15 billion dollars well before the year,he added.
