The President PFUJ Rana Muhammad Azeem and Secretary General Amin Yousuf have condole the death of veteran journalist Salim Ghias in Peshawar who dies of cardiac failure. In a statement, the PFUJ leaders said we will make arrangements to help his family. Salim had been fighting for the salary from his organization Daily Pakistan. It is an alarming situation. We had been taking up this issue not only with the owners of the media houses but also with the government authorities to ensure the monthly salary of the working journalists. We had proposed to the Information Ministry to with held the payments of the media organizations and deduct the outstanding payments of the workers of those media houses.

We once again show full solidarity with the journalist community and demand the organizations to pay the arrears of the  working journalists. PFUJ would definitely take this issue on priority and hold country wide protests after Eid before the media houses not paying regular monthly salaries and force them to not only pay salaries of the working journalists but also implement the wage board award positively.
