Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif kept their interests foremost: Ch Pervaiz Elahi

23-- -------7Lahore:Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said electricity and gas of Punjab was bargained for becoming the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for the third time, Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif kept their own interests upper-most instead those of the peoples interests, electricity cannot come by their ministers telling lie daily, they have rendered industries of the province bankrupt and made life of the people miserable, workers, traders and businessmen, fasting people mourning the false promises of the rulers on roads in hot and humid weather and Ramzanul Mubarak in Lahore and other cities want electricity and not statements of the PM and the CM of taking notice.
In a statement issued here expressing complete solidarity with the people deprived of electricity Ch Parvez Elahi said that factual position of their power projects in Nandipur, Uch, Sahiwal etc has also been exposed before the people, due to 20 to 22 hours continuous load shedding daily in Punjab, industries and business were shut and ovens not working. He said those clamouring about launching of projects to produce thousands of megawatt and inaugurating these projects have not inducted even one megawatt of power in the system till now.
Mentioning worst conditions of industries in Punjab due to non-availability of electricity and gas as compared to the other provinces, Ch Parvez Elahi said that as compared to our tenure the rate electricity for industries was almost double but still electricity was not available, despite all their announcements fasting people were without electricity at Sehr and Iftar time, workers were unemployed, there was no business and all were forced to come out on the roads and protest, whereas during out time we had always given preference to the problems of the common man as well as the workers, industrialists and traders, domestic, commercial and industrial rates of electricity and gas were much lower than now and there was no shortage of these either.
