Administration to ensure provision of edibles at reasonable rates: Hamza Shahbaz

MNA Hamza ShahbazLahore: Central Leader of PML-N Hamza Shahbaz Sharif MNA has said that quality and prices of essential items will be ensured strictly during Ramazan ul Mubarak and no compromise will be made in this regard. He said that no negligence will be tolerated in providing relief to the people. He said that a comprehensive mechanism has been evolved for providing eatable items to the people at cheaper rates in Ramazan bazaars.

Hamza Shahbaz said that the elected representatives and administration have been directed to ensure provision of edibles at reasonable rates. He said that people will not be let at the mercy of profiteers.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting with regard to Ramzan Bazars at Model Town office here today.

MNA Pervaiz Malik, Kh. Ahmad Hassaan, MPAs Kh. Imran Nazir, Ch. Shahbaz, DCO and others attended the meeting.

Hamza Shahbaz said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced the biggest Ramazan package in the history of the country for providing relief to the people of the province during Ramazan ul Mubarak under which a subsidy of Rs.5 billion has been given on the provision of flour to the people at cheaper rates.

He said that political and administrative machinery has been activated to provide quality essential items in abundance so that the fruits of Ramazan package could be provided to the people. He said that 2000 Madni Dastarkhwans have been set up during Sehri and Aftari where free Sehri and Aftari are being provided to the people.

He said that cleanliness and foolproof security arrangements should be made in Ramazan Bazars. He said that concerned officials should visit markets regularly and ensure sale of eatables at fixed prices. He said that the shopkeepers should display the rate lists prominently. Hamza Shahbaz said that 13 provincial ministers have been assigned the monitoring duty of Ramazan Bazars. He said that all provincial secretaries are also paying surprise visits to Ramazan Bazars.

He said that 1110 magistrates have been deployed for checking the quality and prices of essential items in Ramazan Bazars.
