Punjab Cabinet approves budget

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over the meeting of Punjab Cabinet at Chief Minister’s office, here today. Provincial Ministers, Special Assistants, Advisors, Chief Secretary and concerned secretaries attended the meeting.

The meeting gave formal approval to provincial budget for the fiscal year 2014-15. It also approved financial bill and revised estimates for the provincial budget for the year 2013-14. The Punjab cabinet also granted approval to developmental expenditures for the fiscal year 2014-15 and revised development budget for 2013-14. Secretary Finance Jehanzeb Khan apprised the meeting of the prominent features of provincial budget 2014-15.

Addressing the meeting the Chief Minister said that Punjab budget for the fiscal year 2014-15 will play an important role in the progress and prosperity of the people of the province and a new era of development will usher in the province.

The Chief Minister appreciated the performance of Provincial Ministers especially Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, political colleagues, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Finance and concerned officers and staff who worked day and night for the preparation of the new budget and said that the entire political and administrative team deserves all out credit for its efforts.

The meeting observed one minute’s silence to condole the death of the father of Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu.
