Lahore: Punjab police is prepared and equally capable to meet all type of challenges including terrorism and this is the reason after terrorism incident at Karachi Airport, the security of all airports, sensitive installations, important government buildings, business centers including important political, religious personalities along with media persons of the province is being revisited and which will be immediately implemented across Punjab after getting final shape.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig, while addressing a head money distribution ceremony held in CPO today in honour of police officers who arrested the hardened criminals. Addl: IGP Punjab, Sermad Saeed Khan, Addl: IGP Investigation Punjab, Khaliq Dad Lak, SSP Investigation, Waqas Hassan and other officers of CPO were also present in the ceremony.
Provincial police chief distributed an amount of rupees 30 lac among 45 officers of 5 districts including Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Mandi Baha ud Din, Hafizabad and Kasur. Four officers were given appreciation certificates, whereas, three informers were also included who got cash award.
While appreciating the efforts of the officers being rendered by them to arrest the subversive elements of the society, the IGP saluted these officers. He said that the arrest of these hardened criminals not only reduced the crime graph but also minimize the unrest among the people.
Provincial police chief further said that to enhance the working capacity of the Punjab police, the major portion of the budget 2014-15 will be spent on operational activities by providing them the latest vehicles, technology, weapons and modernized training.
