Government is taking every possible step for the development of sports :Usman Anwar

Lahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP), under the directives of Punjab government, is taking every possible step for the development of healthy activities not only in Punjab province but also across the country, this was stated by Director General SBP Usman Anwar while addressing the sports ceremony of a media group on Thursday night.

He said that the role of SBP in the revival of sports in the country was quite evident. “After watching our successful Punjab Youth Festival, other provinces are quite eager to follow us”. “Recently we helped Balochistan in holding their Sports Festival in a befitting manner and now we are ready to extend our assistance to Azad Kashmir for holding their sports festivals so that their youth may also enjoy all the sporting facilities at their home grounds,” he described.

He said that the situation had improved a lot and now we can see constant sporting activities throughout the country. “Inter-Provincial Youth Games are fresh events which we organized in all the provinces of the country. The teams from SBP, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Fata, Gilgit Baltistan, Federal Areas and Azad Kashmir (AK) featured in several games like badminton, hockey, table tennis, swimming, athletics and football etc during these games,” he informed.
