Punjab government decides to give special subsidy during Ramzan

Minister Food Bilal Yaseen3-6-14Lahore: Punjab government has decided to give special subsidy to the people during holy month of Ramzan-ul-Mubarrak.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by Provincial Minister for Food & Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Punjab Bilal Yasin, here today. Members Provincial Assembly Rauf Mughal, Mian Rafi Rajuara, Dr. Arif, Rai Mansab Ali, Haji Nawaz, secretaries of Agriculture, Industry, Health, Transport, Finance, Food, Livestock and Information departments, Commissioner Lahore and DG Punjab Food Authority were present on the occasion.

Addressing the meeting, Bilal Yasin said that it is the mission of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to provide relief to the people and essential items should be provided to them at cheaper rates. The meeting was told that Punjab government is setting up Ramzan bazaars throughout the province where stalls by utility stores and fair price shops by Agriculture Department will be established.

The meeting decided that flour, sugar, dates, fruits, vegetables, ghee, gram flour and bananas will be available to the people at subsidized rates. Fines and punishments will be awarded to the shopkeepers involved in selling items at higher rates and less weight and measures.

Bilal Yasin said that flour, sugar, dates, fruits, vegetables, ghee, gram flour and bananas will be provided to the people at subsidized rates in abundance and no negligence or profiteering will be tolerated in this regard.
