PRCS Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi while talking to PEW president Murtaza Mughal said it has decided to pay special attention to volunteerism to increase the number of volunteers to five million by the next year.We have decided to unleash power of volunteerism to help humankind during natural and man-made disasters Dr Saeed Elahi added.
Dr Saeed Elahi said that formulating a motivated and committed human capital so that they can make a difference in someone’s life.He opted for this slot with an aim to serve humanity and make PRCS a self-sufficient organisation as international assistance is not always available at hand during clamities.
We have introduced a 24/7 helpline to provide reliable information and support; a latest ambulance service (1030) has been launched in the capital city while a hospital in being completed in Islamabad with the help of Turkish Red Crescent Society and other partner organisations, informed Saeed Elahi.
He added that the blood donation programme is being extended and efforts are afoot to educate people so that every household could have a first-aider.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Murtaza Mughal said that we will not need any foreign aid after disasters if the business community sacrifice a small portion of their profits to serve the needy
Dr. Mughal lauded the determination of Chairman PRCS and hoped that masses would soon feel a change.
