PM will inaugurate Nandipur power project on May 31

Shahid-Riaz-GondalLahore: Coordinator to Chief Minister Punjab on Energy, Shahid Riaz Gondal has said that Prime Minister Pakistan and Khadim-e-Punjab will lay the foundation stone of 1320 megawatt coal-based power plant in Punjab on May 30 and expressed the hope that they will also inaugurate Nandipur power project on May 31.  

He expressed these views while talking to senior journalists. Shahid Riaz Gondal said that Punjab government will launch 10 to 15 hydro power projects within next two years in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

He said that government is determined to provide required electricity to the people and country’s economy by utilizing local sources. He hoped that Prime Minister will honor his promise of eliminating load-shedding from the country within four years. He said that PML-N leadership is fully aware of the seriousness of energy crisis facing the country and that is why is taking every possible step for overcoming the problem of shortage of energy.

He said that the aim of foreign visits by the party leadership is to acquire cooperation of friendly countries for ridding Pakistan of energy crisis. He said that round the clock efforts of the government for overcoming energy crisis will become successful and people will get rid of load-shedding problem forever.
