Rana Mashud hosted brunch in the honour of World Shrumani Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee

Rana MashudLahore: Provincial Minister for Education & Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan today hosted brunch in honour of 8-member delegation of World Shrumani Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee currently on a religious pilgrimage of Sikh Shrines in Pakistan particularly that of located in the province of Punjab.

President World Shrumani Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Avtar Singh offered during informal talk on this occasion that the members of his organization will feel extreme happiness to invest in conservation of Gurudawara Dera Sahib Lahore and Marrhi of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh voluntarily if the Punjab government would provide two acre of land near Wagha Border to construct a residential hostel for the Sikh Yatrees.

He said, we are thankful to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who has provided every possible facility to Sikh Yatrees but we want to invest in the construction expenses of this hostel also.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan assured the delegation that the matter is being referred to the Evacuee Trust Board for identification of the required land after which a hostel for Sikh Yatrees will be built in line with the traditional Sikh Architecture in the near future.

Members of the Punjab Provincial Assembly Malik Saif ul Malook Khokhar, Mian Naseer Ahmed and Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora also attended the reception.

Later, Punjab Minister for Education & Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan presided over a meeting of the senior officers related to conception and feasibility work of “Shahi Bagh” on River Ravi Bank near the tomb of Late Mughal Emperor Jehangir as envisioned by the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Commissioner Lahore Division Rashid Mahmood Langrial informed the meeting that the proposed Shahi Bagh will be developed on 840 acres of land which will also include the Theme Park Project and establishment of a five star hotel in the Theme Park in collaboration with Hashu Group. 4.6 km long and 1.5 km wide manmade lake will also be developed in Shahi Bagh to give a water front to the historic city of Lahore.

The Punjab government intends to construct four new bridges over the River Ravi to connect Shahi Bagh with the adjoining areas, the Commissioner added.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan directed to connect the proposed Shahi Bagh to the Lahore Ring Road through construction of another dedicated bridge over the River Ravi so that the distance between Lahore Airport to this Novel Project would be minimized to 15 minutes drive only.
