RPO’s decides accountability of the force

RPO Conference 13-05-14 RPO Conference 13-5-14Lahore: Permanent and effective coordination, Intelligence and information sharing between all departments of Punjab police including CIA, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), Investigation Branch, Special Branch and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is essential to control the law and order situation, protection of lives and properties of the peoples and elimination of street crimes in the province.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig, while addressing the RPO Conference held at Central Police Office Lahore, today.

Addl: IGP CTD Punjab, Amin Vains, Addl: IGP Special Branch, Punjab, Muhammad Amlish, CCPO Lahore, Shafique Ahmad Gujjar, RPO Sheikhupura, Abubakar Khuda Bakhsh, RPO Gujranwala, Saad Akhter Bharwana, RPO Rawalpindi, Akhter Umer Hayat Laleka, RPO Faisalabad, Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, RPO Sargodha, Ahmad Ishaq Jehangir, RPO Multan, Amjad Javaid Saleemi, RPO Sahiwal, Faisal Shahkar, RPO D.G Khan, Rehmat Ullah Khan Niazi, DIG Headquarters, Muhammad Tahir, DIG Operations Lahore, Rana Abdul Jabbar and PSO to IGP Punjab, Tariq Rustan Chauhan also attended the conference.

Region wise performance of the police during last four months was reviewed in the meeting. It was decided in the conference that all RPOs will send the lists of those officers / officials who indulged in official negligence and misconduct with in a week to IGP, so that disciplinary action could be ensured against them.

While discussing the arrest of hardened POs and their arrests, it was decided to maintain the record of their accounts and properties for taking effective action against them.

The conference also reviewed thoroughly all registered cases of blind murders and arrests of involved accused including arrest of top five gangs, police encounters, extortion, car / motorcycle theft, cattle / water theft, kidnapping for ransom, gang / minor rape cases and acid throwing cases in detail.

In the meeting, security of the Banks, Jewelry Shops and Patrol Pumps was also assessed. Condition of the lockups in police stations, registration of cases, progress of challaned cases and security of the arrested accused including the security of the witnesses in the courts was also discussed by the participants.

Terrorism and sectarian cases of all regions were also reviewed in the meeting. Moreover, the security arrangements being adopted for the foreign, specially Chinese experts who are working on various ongoing development projects of the Punjab government in different regions.

While appreciating the performance of the Punjab police during the rallies / public meetings currently arranged by different political parties, IGP said that despite of serious security threats, police officers / officials worked consecutively to protect the lives of the people during these gatherings.
